Live Blog: Oakland Roots vs. FC Tulsa (April 18, 2026)

Hello and welcome back to the blog’s live coverage of Oakland Roots hosting FC Tulsa at the Coliseum. Roots start the day in fifth place in the USL Championship’s Western Conference with games in hand on Orange County, San Antonio, and Sacramento. With eight points, Oakland can jump ahead of Sacramento if results go its way tonight.

Tulsa enters the match after getting thrashed 3-nil by St. Louis in the U.S. Open Cup on April 15, where they featured several starters like Jamie Webber, Harvey St. Clair, Owen Damm, Adboulaye Cissoko, Lucas Stauffer, Delentz Pierre, and Lamar Batista. So, chances are we should see some rotation from the visitors. Tulsa sits second-to-last in 11th place at 1-2-2, having scored more in a game just once in a 3-2 win over Las Vegas on March 21.

Starting Lineups

Three changes for Oakland Roots from its previous lineup against Tampa Bay. Jesus de Vicente moves into the playing right back spot in place of Tyler Gibson. Faysal Bettache moves to the bench as well, while I’m curious to see who lines up at the CAM spot. It looks like a potentially potent attack with Peter Wilson, Wolfgang Prentice, Danny Trejo, and Bertin Jaqueson. That’s a lot of speed, I like it. Aside from that, no changes. Michael Edwards and David Garcia are the center back pairing, Julian Bravo at left back, while the midfield is once again Tommy McCabe and Bobosi Byaruhanga. Raphael Spiegel returns in goal. Florian Valot is also on the bench.
