Hello and welcome back to the blog’s live coverage of Oakland Roots visiting Indy Eleven in a rare Sunday afternoon game. Roots remain in 11th place entering the match, falling nine points below the playoff line. With six matches left in the regular season, it looks like do-or-die for a win.
Indy Eleven enters in seventh place of the East and unbeaten in three matches, including a recent 4-nil win over Brooklyn. In Luis de Guzman’s three questions for today’s game, he wonders if Roots can stop Indy’s direct attack, how Oakland can break Indy down, and if Bruno Lapa and Peter Wilson feature together.

Three changes to Roots’ lineup since last week. Bruno Lapa enters the starting lineup, while Michael Edwards returns to the CB spot in place of Neveal Hackshaw. Bobosi Byaruhanga also gets the nod. Tommy McCabe is unavailable; I’m told he’s fine. Aside from that, no changes. I’m curious to see how Florian Valot and Bruno Lapa, while wingers like Bertin Jacquesson and Wolfgang Prentice start. That must mean one takes the CAM spot and the other takes a midfield spot with McCabe out. This must mean Mark Fisher moves to the RB spot instead of Julian Bravo.
