Oakland Roots announced they have completed a transfer of Jose Luis Sinisterra to Club Deportivo Garcilaso of Liga 1 in Peru.
Club Deportivo Garcilaso of Liga 1 in Peru announced that they have signed Jose Luis Sinisterra to a contract on July 24.
Sinisterra was under contract with Oakland Roots, presumably making this a transfer. Although Roots have not been able to confirm anything, an outside source told the blog earlier this week that Sinisterra was on his way out. CD Garcilaso, meanwhile, has already posted its promotional videos to welcome Sinisterra to the squad.
The move comes shortly after Roots acquired Faysal Bettache from FC Tulsa. Bettache comes to Oakland as an attacking midfielder and right winger, making Sinisterra expendable.
Adriano Savalli of FutbolSites confirmed Sinisterra joins CD Garcilaso with a one-year contract and an option to extend for six more months.
Sinisterra, 27, began his career with Real Valladolid’s reserve squad of Spain’s Segunda Federación in 2016 before joining Lanús of Argentina’s top division from 2018-2020. From there, he signed on with Club Atlético Platense of Argentina’s Primera División in 2020-2021, then signed with San Martín de Tucumán of Argentina’s second division to close 2021.
He then signed with Deportivo Pereira in Colombia in 2022, helping them win a league title. Club Blooming signed him in 2023, playing there one season before joining Sportivo Trinidense in Paraguay.
Oakland Roots signed Sinisterra in August 2024, appearing 24 times for 1,472 minutes, scoring three goals and one assist.
In 2025, Sinisterra has appeared in 16 matches and started 12 times for 1,009 minutes, two goals, and one assist.
