Roots fans it’s rivalry day! The ____th edition [Editor: please fill in before publication] of the I-h80 derby kicks off tonight at the historic Oakland Coliseum. Luckily, no big stadium news leading up to this game. Will the game occur? I mean, probably!
I expected to get back on the horse with blogging during my funemployment but in fact this week–a short week no less–I’ve had a sick toddler which has now been supplemented by a sick wife. So I’m not, like, drowning in spare time.
Roots fell to 7th with their tepid mid-week loss in Lexington, and are on the unfavorable end of the West’s bizzare spread of games in hand. Sacramento are one point behind in 8th, but have two games in hand. The match tonight is not must-win, but it’s must-win-or-things-get-real-annoying. Or must-win-or-we-have-to-reconsider-if-Roots-are-even-decent-since-we’re-well-below-wondering-if-they’re-good.
Fun week to be a Roots fan!
Match Predictions
Bloom
Smashing Sacramento seems like the kind of curveball Ryan Martin would throw us just as we’re really starting to doubt. It’s also the result I want to see. 3-1 Roots.
Jon
Roots are in serious need of some positive mojo. I’m going just one change from the last lineup; Bertin Jacquesson in for Tucker Lepley. Roots win, 2-1.
