Hello and welcome back to the blog’s live coverage of Oakland Roots visiting Sacramento Republic for the season finale. It’s a match for all the marbles!
To achieve a playoff spot, Oakland needs to win, and loss or tie by 9th-place Orange County and 8th-place Phoenix Rising. Should Roots end in a tie with Sacramento, they need both OC and Rising to lose.
Moreover, Oakland has a chance to win its supporters this year’s Hella Cup trophy with three points. If Roots win, Sacramento’s Tower Bridge Battalion will hand off the trophy to Oakland’s SGs.
Oakland’s match day essentially starts at 5:30 p.m. with OC kicking off against San Antonio. ORANGE COUNTY UPDATE: San Antonio leads 2-nil. OC makes it 2-1. SAFC wins 2-1.
Luis de Guzman also starts with table-watching in today’s three questions against Sacramento, along with whether Roots can jump on a slow-starting Republic side, and how Oakland defends Memo Rodriguez.
